19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a former number one, has experienced a torrid period, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with former mentor Cervara.
Now working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the past month - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.
It is the player's maiden championship following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since that period of the previous year.
Victory also indicates he has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 various events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters together, so to win a title is really nice," said ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his past six championship matches, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
His defensive strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had caused observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was finished.
Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult opponent, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors swapped breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to push for a final set.
The opponent saved 4 early break points in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev earned victory with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to control a return after a lengthy match.
